Welcome to the Wairoa College web site.
"KIA MATAARA" - This means "Be Vigilant".
A modern interpretation is to "Be sharp and alert" Meet the challenges of the day.
Originally the Wairoa Borough Council adopted a crest based on the coat of arms of the Clyde Bank, Scotland, recognising links to Scotland with the district.
Our crest depicts the Crown Shield and St Andrews Cross, within which are the four house emblems.
